This is a question of home wiring. If the phone jack is wired together with all other phone jacks you can place the magicjack anywhere there is a phone jack. Make sure that there is no incoming line from the telephone company connected as well because that can cause a major issue with the magicjack.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can connect it either way. But, if you connect the magicJack to your home phone wiring, make sure you disconnect the wiring from the outside wiring or cable box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Magic Jack says no, however I am now on my fourth device and only noticed this restriction now. It has worked that way for years in my home with no issue sending or receiving phone calls. The new device works better than all three of the previous ones.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Is magic jack by internet only
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.base phone
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This one may be plugged into a computer or attached by an ethernet cable too your wifi router. I'm not familiar with trying to use already wired phone lined with it. I use a wireless handset with a base and handset just as I would if I had a landline, but connected to the magic jack instead of the wall plugin.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Magic Jack does not use the home wiring as does a traditional phone line. You must either plug it into your Internet-connected computer via USB or directly into you home router via RJ-45 CAT 5/6 cable. Then you would plug your phone into the MJ using a standard phone cord.
