10/21/2020 I just purchased a new maytag washer & dryer. I HATE THIS WASHER!!!!!!!! A washer MUST have water deep enough so that the clothes agitate freely. There is hardly any water in the tub. I added, by using a bucket, 16 gallons of water just to get enough water to wash a load of laundry. AGAIN, I HATE THIS WASHER. A TOTAL WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED $$$$$. I want my money back and this junky washer GONE!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm having the exact same issue. I wish I had a washer from back in the day that has small, med, or large load options. I have no control over this machine. I put it on sensor and the water is so low that the clothes don't wash-they stink! Then I put it on deep fill and the water level is about 1/2 inch higher than on auto sensor and its like an elephant trying to bathe in a tea cup! I put up with it too long and don't think I can return it but I will never buy another auto sensor again! I'd be better off trying to wash by spitting on the clothes. :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The response from MaytagTeam wasn't very helpful. First, it is full of grammar errors. Second, I've tried everything with my Maytag machine and it never adds enough water. The clothes come out with detergent spots because it doesn't even rinse them good enough. This very expensive machine is not as good as a cheap model. I'm very disappointed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First off, don't ever buy another Maytag, especially one that says energy efficient or whatever. We have been adding buckets of water in since we got it. It's the only way to even get everything wet. I. don't care what THEY say. Clothes cannot possibly get clean when they don't even get wet and forget sheets, towels, blankets or God forbid, a comforter. Have done all the troubleshooting, don't bother. It's just a terrible machine. I've told everyone I know and they won't take a chance on getting the same kind of experience with their Maytag machine. Too bad. The old machines were wonderful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wash pretty much everything on the bulky/sheets cycle as that’s the only one that gets a good amount of water in the drum.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same problem with the water level never being high enough. I really hate using this washer. My 22-year old Maytag that I had before this worked so much better. Obviously there is no easy fix for this. Really disappointed in this version of Maytag!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same problem. Remedy is that I will return my 1month old washer to Lowes tomorrow and by a different brand.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have discussed the above (which am experiencing with my new washer). I’ve been advised to use smaller loads and always use the deep water wash. Since deep water wash (per instructions) can’t be used on normal wash, it was advised to always use bulky sheets cycle. In this way there is more water so that clothes aren’t rubbing against each other( which wears them out quickly). However, this wash cycle takes a lot longer, but things are clean. Some have said they put two pails of water in the machine to get water above the clothes. Haven’t done that as I have to lug water too far. We have learned to deal with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Wet your items to make them heavier before placing them into the washer. The water level sensor(s) add according to the weigh of your wash load.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The new Maytag is a royal pain. When I have delicates or several cotton sweaters, I do not want them rubbing up against each-other with very little water. So.... I start the delicate cycle on high water level setting, adding detegrgent, etc. Do not put ANY clothes in. Set a timer for 18 minutes. Let the machine fill and agitate. After 18 to 19 minutes it will be full as its going to get. Pause washer. Insert clothing (I use a mesh bag for each item). Close lid. It will start to agitate, but now only for a few minutes, plenty for my hardly soiled delicates. You can also pause the machine and let it soak for a few minutes. Let it drain and spin. You can either let it go through the rinse cycle, but that gets very little water. So sometimes I pull all the clothes out before the rinse cycle starts, and turn the power off. Then I repeat the first 18 minutes but with with no soap. Add back the clothes and allow them to agitate for a few minutes. Turn off power. It will drain. When it has fully stopped set the washer on drain and spin. I use low speed spin for delicates. Now, wasn't that easy :-)
