• Yes, it will handle comforters and it will handle a king size bedding because it has a very big tub.

• I love my new Maytag top loading washer! I bought it even though my current washer was not broken. I wash everything in it. I have not washed a waterproof mattress cover yet, but I have washed rugs and other heavy pieces.
