Agitator moves sufficiently, but very little water. Some clothing and bedding have been damaged due , I think, to the lack of water. I have always had an agitator washer, with lots of water, so clothes were always clean and well rinsed. No, my new Maytag It did not come in an enclosed box that I saw, unless it was unpacked on the truck. I am looking for a possible replacement. The washer is pretty to look at and has nice sounds, but still, I can't afford to have my clothing damaged.

I'm all for water and energy conservation but if the trade off in using so little water is a much greater increase in the lenth of time the machine is operating that results in an increased use of electricity, exactly where is the savings or efficiency? At this point, I will divulge that I watched my grandmother use her new washing machine that was basically a large tub on four legs with an apparatus that looked like a 2-parallel-rolling-pins-style wringer attached, so I've used a number of new and improved models. My experience with the newest washing machine technology has taught me that in order to wash my clothes as I see fit, I have had to learn to think outside the box -- to manipulate the operating system to ensure that my clothes are at least covered with enough water to be washed to my satisfaction (with or without an agitator) and to prevent clothes being damaged. My method may use a bit more water and detergent so it may not be as efficient as the manufacturer's efficiency estimates but it works for me. It's simple, really, just trick the sensor. When I start a load, I begin it on the rapid wash cycle with no detergent and the following settings: light soil, no spin and deep fill. After allowing the washing machine to run about 10 minutes, I pause it and turn it off. The machine drains some of the water, however, the clothes retain enough water to make them heavier, so that the sensor allows enough water to cover the clothes when I restart the load for the real wash cycle. (If I forget, even if it runs through the rapid wash cycle, the actual rinse cycle will not spin the water out of the clothes. The result may mean that I have to use a little bit more detergent in the real wash cycle but I always use the extra rinse cycle to ensure no detergent is left in the clothes. Also, I almost always use the deep fill option to ensure the rinse cycle maximizes the amount of water. Although all of this effort isn't a time saver, and it may not be useful for everyone, it beats my frustration with not having enough water to cover the clothes to wash and protect them from damage. Otherwise, I could save the cost of a washer and a dryer, along with the operating costs for both, and use my bathtub. I can wring out the water using 2 opposing-direction rods (having one affixed in a stationary position, of course -- the whole family can help), and hang dry the load on a rack under a ceiling fan. I've done it before, and it beats going to the creek or river edge to use the rocks! Oh, mine came in a box that was removed but I kept the box and materials until I was sure it worked (then I disposed of them). I love the washer and agitator. It should last a long time because of its commercial grade technology -- as per the manufacturer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I returned 2 Maytags to Best Buy bc they were JUNK & didn't clean my clothes, the clothes moved so slow there's no way they were gonna get clean & they stuck up out of the water bc the fancy high tech machine was supposed to detect load size & water needed, NO WAY.....good luck!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the agitator moves the clothes sufficiently and the clothes are clean. It would be better if there was more water in the quick wash to help the agitator. Our new Maytag was delivered in an inclosed box, which was removed before the washer was brought into the house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the agitator is a lot better than no agitator. We love this washing machine it only takes 35 minutes and it washes the clothes good. The tub is huge it can probably hold quilt easy to wash. When the washer was delivered they brought it in not in a box it could of been in a box they took a little while to bring it so they might of took it out of the box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it's doing a good job. The agitator doesn't work quite like the old washers. But this seems to be sufficient. Much better than the "no agitator" models. My clothes seem to be much cleaner with this agitator. Washer came completely wrapped but not in a box. Also, MADE IN THE USA!!!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think the Maytag does a better job of cleaning clothes than my previous Samsung washer which did not have an agitator. I do not recall 100% if the washer was delivered in a box- I believe it was but removed from the box by the delivery team.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use the Bedding cycle to get more water without getting too much like you are supposed to get with Deep Fill. My whites weren't getting white in a medium load so now I separate into small load and use Deep Clean option with Bedding cycle. Agitation is supposed to be different strengths depending on cycle you choose but you can also select a higher soil level to get more agitation. The agitator justs moves the clothing back and forth, does not 'tumble' like in older machines with lots of water.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The washer does a very good job of cleaning my clothes, although I don't know how much this is due to the agitator, which seems to move the clothes around just a little (unlike my old Maytag). The new washer was delivered in a box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes my clothes are definitely cleaner! It came in a box which the delivery men took away.
