This should work with any TV with an HDMI. My Parents TV only had 2 HDMI ports that were in use, so I also bought a cheap 'manual' HDMI splitter off of Amazon for $18. This was much easier for my father to navigate - 1 less remote. You will need to set up a Facebook account for each person wanting to connect. - I did this for my parents and manage the account. I also set up the Portal TV in their location and tested it using my iPhone to connect. My parents use the Facebook portal TV and I use my iPhone/iPad/or my own recently purchased Portal TV to connect with them. Either myself or my parents can start a video chat with this. The remote is also very close to an Amazon Firestick which my parent already used, so they adapted to it well. This is honestly the best purchase I have made regarding connecting simply with long distance relatives. I researched and tried a fe other solutions without success. The best thing is that my parents were already used to interacting with their big 65" TV and this is really an extension of that concept, not something new tech wise which they were resistant to. An unexpected benefit was that I used my iPhone on a tripod (and wireless earbuds-too noisy in the gym) to stream my daughters entire volleyball season of matches to them. They thought it was amazing watching their granddaughter play on the 65" tv in their home with giving play by play announcements and scoring updates!
