Correction - I just read you can connect the Surface Book 2 power brick connector directly to the screen at the keyboard connection. So YES, you can charge just the tablet without the keyboard attached. This is great if you just want to carry the tablet without the keyboard. But you'll have to bring along the Surface Book 2 power brick.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. While the Surface Book 2 can in fact be charged separately, we recommend using your designated charger with your Surface Book 2 screen docked to it's keyboard for an optimal charging experience.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it has a charge port in the down part of the surface screen to charge it when is ditached from the keyboard
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There aren't any ports or connectors on the tablet/screen other than the connector that attaches to the base. So no, I do not believe there is anyway to charge the screen without being attached to the keyboard. The Surface Book 2 has a proprietary magnetic connector that attaches to the keyboard. But I believe it can also be charge via USB-C but it's much slower. These ports are on the keyboard. You might consider one of the other Surface products if this is important to you. They all have ports on the tablet.
