A:Answer I have the same package with Charter and it works great. Make sure your install tech does their job setting up the modem so it will recognize the router and give it a real IP address and not just all zeros. You should test run your equipment before you let that install tech leave.
I have friends who bought the ac1750 and were led to believe, by their install tech, that their product was not compatable with Charter. This particular tech wasn't aware, for whatever reason, that they could solve the issue very quickly and easily by logging into the modem and telling it to give the router a good IP address.
The other option, which I employed for my friends, was to log into their router and give it the same MAC address as my laptop so that after a restart, the modem immediately gave the router a valid IP address because it thought it was talking to my laptop which it is supposed to play ball with instead of playing games.
Most of the compatibility issues you read about really have to do with disagreements between modem manufacturers and router manufacturers and have nothing to do with your Internet provider. As usual, the end user suffers while the corporations fight over our money.
