A:Answer I had the same problem. It took me a while eliminating all other possibilities including the internet service provider. The problem I had was a defective router. If I hooked up other routers, no problem. I had to contact Netgear support at least 4 times to go though their "troubleshooting," all which I had done but did again. Troubleshooting included hard reset, reloading firmware update, changing MTU size, etc. They finally acknowledged it was a defective router. My recommendation? Buy Best Buys Geek Squad warranty. It will cost you less and you will get better service. All the service reps including the second and third tiers do not speak English well and even after going through all their support, they still had to get "supervisor's" approval. Then YOU have to pay to ship your router to them. After they get it, they will ship you a replacement. I am still waiting on my replacement.
