QuestionCan I use this router instead of the the Verizon fios router they provide since Verizon fios doesn’t use a modem ?

- Answer Yes this could replace your modem and router. This is the only thing I have. I have the main ulunit connected to the outlet for my internet and then the other 2 satellites placed throughout my house for consistent coverage.

QuestionDo these hook into your existing wi-fi connection? I have wi-fi but because of where I live it is terribly slow so looking for something to help with that. Thanks.

- Answer Why is your wifi slow? If internet access is slow from the router to an internet destination, then the Orbi will not solve the problem. Upgrade the bandwidth of your internet service. For example from 20Mps to 100mps. Some ISPs offer up to 2,000mps (2gps). If internet service speed is good then Orbi will provide just about as good as you can get wifi service.

- Answer You don’t have to have a modem with this. I thought you did too until I called netgear to help me set mine up. The guy said it’s overkill and it’s not needed so I took back the one we had bought when we purchased the Orbi mesh system. So if you get this, this is all you need. And there is a 800 number that will walk you through setting it up properly. They were amazing!
