If this isn't suitable for your vehicle, or if you want to hard wire the cam into your vehicle instead, then a Nextbase Hard Wire Kit can be purchased from BestBuy. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hardwire-kit-for-all-nextbase-dash-cameras-black/6346999.p?skuId=6346999

  • QuestionThis doesn’t come with an SD card?

    Asked by Jen.

    • Answer No SD card. The recommended one is their own Nextbase memory card but a SanDisk U3 type card worked fine.

  • QuestionCan we use any brand SD card?

    Asked by Nay.

    • Answer Hello Nay, For a 320XR Dashcam I would recommend a Dash Cam compatible 32GB -128GB U3 Micro SD card, specifically designed for Dash Cam or CCTV usage. Using a dash cam compatible SD card instead will allow your Dash Cam to function as designed. The card needs to have a minimum continuous write speed of 48MB/s for the dual cameras. For guaranteed functionality and warranty of the SD card itself, we would always recommend a Nextbase SD card.

  • QuestionDoes the camera have a motion sensor? Will it start recording if there is movement or does the car have to be touched for it to engage?

    Asked by CyberSImple.

    • Answer Supposedly, you have to “bump” the car. But I’ve beat the Heck out of my car with his camera on and the ignition off. It hasn’t started recording at all. It looks like you have to slam into it with another car to have it start recording. And yes mine is hardwired so it should turn on, but it’s not. Also, if you have it hardwired at Best Buy remember that there’s only a two week return policy. And then if it doesn’t work, you have to deal with the company in England. Like I had to do

  • QuestionDoes it run of 12 or 5 volts? I currently have an Insignia camera connected to the rear USB port on my Sony head unit as it runs off of 5 volts that way the camera comes on whenever I start my truck. Would this be able to use the same USB port? Thank you.

    Asked by AdamM.

    • Answer Hello Adam, The 320XR requires a 12V/ 5 amp power supply. We do not recommend using a USB cable to power the Dashcam in your vehicle as this can be susceptible to voltage fluctuations. Please only use the provided 12V Cigarette Lighter Cable, or the Nextbase Hard Wire Kit to power the Dashcam.

  • QuestionWill this record when I’m away from the vehicle?

    Asked by BD.

    • Answer For Parking Mode, if the camera is completely still for five minutes (the car is parked), then the camera will 'hibernate' in Parking Mode. If your car is bumped and the G Force sensor registers movement then the dash cam will automatically turn on, record for 30 seconds and then shut back down again. If you are unlucky enough to be hit twice in a row then the dash cam would automatically record again and capture both events. If you want to use Parking Mode, we'd recommend hardwiring the camera to a Permanent Live fuse position, and then enabling Parking Mode on the camera. Parking Mode will turn the camera off when there's no movement in the car (e.g. parked), and prevent the camera from unnecessarily using your car's battery power. • QuestionHow long does the loop recording go for? 1 minute? 3?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello, Regarding the recording lengths, the camera will record continuously in small segments (1,2, or 3 minutes). It will record these segments consecutively until the SD card is full. Then the oldest piece of footage will be deleted and the newest will be saved in it's place. This will continue looping and is called Continuous Overwriting. The Dash Cam does this automatically to allow for more footage to be recorded and the old, unnecessary footage to be deleted without manual intervention. For a 128GB SD card, this usually holds around 8 hours of footage before loop recording, However Protected Files are not overwritten in the same way as normal files. If you do not format regularly, these files can build up and reduce the capacity of storage available for normal footage. It is essential to format every two weeks to delete any protected files and clear the card ready for continued usage.
