  • QuestionWill this work on nikon d3300

    Asked by Softball.

    • Answer AF-P lenses like this AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Telephoto Zoom Lens can be used with the D3300. D3300 firmware version 1.0.1 is required in order to be able to enable/disable the lens VR (vibration reduction). D3300 firmware version 1.0.1 can be downloaded from this address: http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/download/fw/174.htmlhttp://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/download/fw/174.html . When using an AF-P lens on the D3300 the camera’s setup menu will not have the “Manual Focus Ring in AF mode” option so this feature will remain enabled. When enabled, “Manual Focus Ring in AF mode” allows the lens focus ring to be used for manual focus when the camera is in autofocus mode.

  • QuestionDoes it work on a Nikon D750? Thank you!

    Asked by Kadhum.

    • Answer The AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens (20062) is compatible with the D750. However, the camera does not have a menu option to turn optical VR On/Off so the VR cannot be disabled. Using the most recent version of D750 firmware is recommended. D750 firmware, along with instructions on updating your camera's firmware, can be found here: http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/products/175/D750.html . It's also important to note that this is a DX format lenses and therefore optimized for use on DSLRs with the smaller DX sensor. A DX lens does not transmit enough light to entirely fill the D750's FX sensor. Because of this the D750 will automatically will switch over to DX Crop Mode. In DX crop mode the D750’s largest available Image Size is reduced to 3936x2624 (approx. 10.3MP).

  • Questionwill it work with Nikon D7100?

    Asked by paul.

    • Answer It will work, you just won't be able to turn off the vr. I'm using it on a D7200 with the same issue. Never a problem for me as I always leave vr on.

  • QuestionDoes this lens fit on a D3100?

    Asked by Pey12.

    • Answer While the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Telephoto Zoom lens is able to be mounted on the Nikon D3100 DSLR camera, it will not work as AF-P type lenses are not compatible with this model of camera. Compatible lenses for the Nikon D3100 are AF-S and E-type lenses. AF-type lenses can also be used but will need to be manually focused.

  • QuestionI have a Nikon D5600 DSLR with 70-300mm G ED(non VR) lens. Does Nikon 55-200mm VR ll lens better than Nikon 70-300mm G ED (non VR) lens??

    Asked by Md.

    • Answer I can't speak to the specifics of the 55-200 vs the 70-300, but unless you are planning on always using a tripod, stick with the VR lens. I have the 55-200 non VR and the 70-300 VR. I have better luck with the VR lens every time.

  • QuestionIs this Len compatible with the Nikon D7100? Will autofocus work?

    Asked by Tori.

    • Answer Yes, the AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens (20062) is compatible with the D7100 with both autofocus and manual focus available. However, since this lens does not have a VR ON/OFF switch, VR (Vibration Reduction) will default to ON when used with this camera. In addition, the focus ring on the lens cannot be disabled when using the autofocus mode on this camera; the lens can be manually focused by using the focus ring. Updating the D7100's firmware to the most recent version is recommended. The most recent D7100 firmware, along with instructions on checking the firmware version and installing new firmware, can be found here: http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/products/27/D7100.html . For a version of this lens without VR consider the AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens (20061). Another alternative is the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR Lens (20068) which features a VR switch as well as a focus mode switch.

  • QuestionFew days ago I bought Nikon D5600 DSLR with 18-55mm VR lens and 70-300mm G ED lens from Best Buy. But I don’t know, What’s the difference between 70-300mm G ED ( not VR) lens and 70-300 G ED VR lens?

    Asked by Maruf.

    • Answer The only difference between the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR lens and the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED lens is that one has Vibration Reduction image stabilization (VR) and the other does not. They are both designed for ultra-fast focusing with a pulse motor (utilizing stepping motors) that allows for near-silent autofocus, making either of them ideal for movie recording. Both of these lenses deliver sharp and vivid images and are perfect additions to any growing camera bag.

    Asked by Ferno.

    • Answer No. The Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED lens will not work with the Nikon D90 DSLR camera as AF-P type lenses are not compatible with this camera body. • QuestionCan this be used on a Nikon D60 or D5100

    Asked by Debbie.

    • Answer No, the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR Telephoto Zoom Lens will not work on the Nikon D60 or the D5100. The AF-P type lenses use a new type of electromagnetic focusing system that the D60 and D5100 cannot communicate with. Both the D60 and D5100 will be compatible with AF-S type lenses.

The D90 is not compatible with AF-P type lenses as they use a new electromagnetic focusing system that the D90 cannot communicate with. • QuestionI have 2 Nikon d7000 bodies, I bought a Nikon dx af-p Nikkor 70-300mm 4.5-6.3g Ed lenses but for some reason On both bodies it will not focus in auto or manual . Is there something that needs to be done to get it to work with these bodies

    Asked by Cody.

    • Answer The Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR will not focus as this lens is not compatible with the Nikon D7000 Digital SLR camera. The D7000 will not be compatible with most AF-P type lenses as it uses a new focus system that the D7000 is not able to use. AF-P lenses will be compatible with our newer series of cameras. When it comes to lenses for the D7000 you will want to look for AF-S lenses, as these use our standard focus system. If you have any other questions on lens compatibility, please contact Nikon Customer Support.

  • QuestionI have a Nikon D3300 and would like to shoot indoor sports photography. Will this lens be good as I am on a budget? I see that it is compatible but has limitations and was wondering what are those limitations? Also, would it fit the camera?

    Asked by Dasam.

    • Answer The Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR telephoto zoom lens is an amazingly fast lens and has VR to reduce the effect of hand-shake, making it a great lens for sports and other fast-moving subjects. This lens is designed to fit Nikon's F-mount cameras and is a compatible fit for the Nikon D3300. The firmware update for the D3300 camera to "Version 1.01" addresses the VR limitation of this AF-P lens, allowing you to use the menu to turn VR on or off once the camera's been updated. However, the limitation for the lens focus ring remains; the lens focus ring can not be disabled when in autofocus mode.

    • Answer Vibration control is available when using the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR lens with the Nikon D7500 DSLR model.
