Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There's a recipe for "roast" chicken (first pressure-cooked, then air-fried) in the quickstart guide & mini-recipe book which is very good, and does not require turning the chicken over partway through the air-frying. Otherwise, as the previous answer indicated, you can air-fry pieces of chicken (and there are already YouTube videos of people doing that). The air-frying seems safer and healthier than deep-frying anyway. If you truly want to deep-fry in oil, though, you'll want a different appliance.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can “air fry” a 4-5 pound chicken according to the manual: https://m.ninjakitchen.com/include/pdf/OP300Series_WebCookCharts_180810.pdf. Air frying is different than deep frying. It requires a much smaller amount of oil, up to 75% less and uses a convection fan to fry the ingredients.
