An ATMOS Receiver has another set of speaker connections, on my Yamaha RX V681 receiver, they are labeled "Presence". I placed a set of Onkyo SKH-410's (sold at BB) on my front speakers, and the difference is very noticeable. In my case, the speakers fire up at the ceiling, but ceiling, side or side/rear configurations can also be utilized. Here is everything you want to know about DOLBY ATMOS: https://www.dolby.com/us/en/brands/dolby-atmos.html

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you are working with a 7.1 Atmos ready system, then you have to hook these up to the surround left and surround right connectors and place them on top of your front left & front right speakers as a 5.1.2 set up. Front left (1) Front right (2) Center (3) Surround left ( height left) DOLBY ATMOS ENABLED (.1) Surround right ( height right) DOLBY ATMOS ENABLED (.2) Surround back left (4) Surround back right (5) Subwoofer (.1)

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On most atmos-compatible receivers (Onkyo) there are connections labeled "height" where atoms speakers should be hooked up. Then be sure to calibrate the speakers to your system according to the speaker set-up command in your menu.
