When we started Ooma premium service we used our old answering machine for a while and it worked fine. Eventually we switched to Ooma voice mail and are very happy with it. So you can go either way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works. I plug my Panasonic cordless phone base into Ooma and getting v/m locally(red light coming up on base ).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it can work. You can turn of the Answering service on Ooma if you want the Panasonic phone to take your voice mails. Likewise you can turn off the answering service on the Panasonic phone and allow Ooma to store you voicemails.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ooma will answer first. If you prefer to use the Panasonic, you can disable Voicemail monitoring in my.ooma.com once you have it set up. I think the second option would be better because you usually have the option to listen to voicemails from the cordless phone, and not stand next to the device.
