I have Ooma and I do not use the linx device. My setup consists of plugging the Ooma box into the router on one side and into my houses phone wiring. All of my wired phones work by plugging into the phone jacks around the house. To do this, you need to have a house that was wired with phone jacks. I previously had Spectrum cable TV and phone service. They connected their router into the houses phone network and I just plugged the Ooma box into that same location. If you didn’t previously have a cable phone then this would not necessarily work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don’t have to buy their phone or buy any Linux device. I have used my old Panasonic corded phone and it worked very well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can plug your corded phone in the Ooma. No need of a Linx device. If your house is wired for multiple landline phones you can just plug to Ooma into one of them. Any other phones can then be plugged in as you would have with the phone company. It is VERY important that the connection the your old phone company is disconnected. Do a Google search for Distributing Ooma to All Telephone Jacks this should answer all the questions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't have to buy a Linx or their phones. I use the phone I had and to get extensions I bought a three phone set from Home Depot I used a double connection at the telo for the two lines. one for the phone I had and one for the three phone set. This requires some phone line along the baseboard so you can place the phones where you like. My tele is in the bedroom where I have two phones. One of the extensions is in the kitchen and the other is in my office. I've had Ooma for probably eight or ten years. I love it.
