- Answer The manual says to ONLY use rechargeable Nickle-Metal Hydride Ni-MH batteries. I use Energizer brand.

- Answer Hi! This model has all of the above mentioned requirements besides the ringtone based on the incoming caller ID. You cannot select for a specific caller, but you can select for groups. -A

- Answer Does your wired phone work during power outages? if the answer is yes, then then you have your answer.. UNLESS you are using a phone service thru your local cable provider. Then it wont work because the phone service goes through a modem

- Answer Hi! The KX-TGD863 was just released and it is an updated model. It has a unique design and does have an answering machine. The KX-TGD563 is from 2016 and it can support up to 150 call block numbers, while the new model supports up to 1000 numbers. -A

- Answer I do wear hearing aids for mild-moderate hearing loss. I'm functional in that if I don't wear the hearing aids I can talk to a clerk in a store but often have to ask that person to repeat themselves or "yell at me" - especially if they're masked or behind a plexiglass barrier. With that said, I wasn't wearing my hearing aids when I set them up for my in-laws and I didn't have a problem hearing these phones from the handset. Speakerphone from a handset was a little quieter but I didn't check to see if the volume was all the way up. This phone also can apparently connect to some Bluetooth headsets so if you've a headset that works for you, that may be an option. I didn't check that feature - my in-laws are in their 90's and things like Bluetooth devices, cellphones, etc are beyond their capability.

QuestionAm trying to add another handset toKX-TGD863 and it is not working. I have dialed #130 on new handset, hit locator on the base unit but then I can’t figure out where OK button is on the handset. See “main unit no power. Charging”

- Answer Hi! Before you enter the pound key and numbers 130, you must press on MENU, otherwise the code will not work. All of the programming codes with the pound key followed by numbers, must be used first by pressing the MENU button. -A

- Answer Hello! The handsets do not have a light indicator for voicemail, however a notification will be displayed on the screen. As for additional handsets, you can add 2 more to this system. There are a few models of handsets that are compatible: KX-TGEA60 KX-TGEA61 KX-TGFA61B KX-TGFA71 KX-TGFA85B KX-TGFA88B KX-TGFA97 KX-TGFA97B KX-TGTA61 There is a registration process you have to go through, here you can find the steps: https://help.na.panasonic.com/answers/how-to-register-deregister-a-telephone-handset/ . -M

QuestionI spoke with Allexis at Best Buy and was told this phone system will answer a call and require the caller to push a button to be connected to a "person" allowing bogus calls to be monitored and go unanswered. It does not say this in any of the details.

- Answer That is correct. If the person calling isn't in your address book, then the caller has to press 1 to continue the call. No more robocalls. It doesn't even ring.
