Can the UB820 play dvd-audio and SACD disks? null

No, the UB820 and most other players won't play those formats. The Oppo players (no longer made however) still do.

I got mine to play dvd-audio and SACD , but only 2 channel.

I own this player and all of 3 DVD-Audio disks; all three are DTS 5.1. All three of the discs play on this unit. One of them, "Bays of Future Passed" (Moody Blues) showed an option to play in high quality mode or standard mode; both worked. Queen's, "A Night at the Opera" includes a menu to play on an Audio DVD player or and Audio/Video DVD player. I could not select the Audio DVD player option but the Audio/Video option works. All three disks are copyright 2001 or 2002. I do not have any Super-Audio CDs but according to Panasonic's WEB site it can play CD-DA/ DTS-CD. Overall this unit is excellent and a perfect fit for my DILA projector. Picture quality and sound are amazing. The player includes two HDI outputs, one that can be used for Audio/Video, and one for Audio. This give the option of directly connecting the unit to a projector (or TV) for video, and to a receiver for sound. Very useful feature.
