A:AnswerYes, this headset is able to give voice commands to smart phones. The process is the same for Android, iPhone, and Windows Phone, and I have had no problems with the phone being able to interpret what I told it through the headset.
A:AnswerHello- Unfortunately, the Explorer 505 cannot announce callers by name. This feature requires the PBAP Bluetooth profile, which the Explorer 505 does not support.
A:AnswerYes, our Explorer 500 and 505's eartips and ear loops are user replaceable and you can find them as part of an eartip kit (which includes 3 eartips and 1 earloop). Please don't hesitate to contact our customer care group at www.plantronics.com/support if you have other questions!
A:AnswerThe Explorer 505 does have an LED light. It won't blink all the time but does in response to a status change or button press
- Blink blue when the headset is switched on.
- Solid red until charging is complete, and then off.
- Flashing red and blue during pairing
- Triple red flash when less than 10 minutes of talk time left
- Triple blue flash at incoming call.
A:AnswerHi! The Explorer 505 does not have a function built-in to Play or Pause music through the headset itself. It really depends on the app you're using to stream audio, it could perhaps detect the call button as a play/pause button but this is not a feature from the earpiece itself. A:AnswerSupposed to be more crisp and clear as far as what you hear and who hears you. Also it comes with a traveling charging port that you can connect to your keys, belt etc.
A:AnswerThe 505 is so spot on. Not everyone has the same fit and feel in the ear for example but for me it's like trying on a shoe and wheb you do and it fits so perfectly you don't even have to walk around because you just know. I know it's crazy but it's the way I do things and I go off of the feeling I have for things. Back in 2010 I just sat in a BMW M3 and never owned one beforrw and I didn't even test drive it. I didn't read about it and or watch hours of videos on YouTube to get me excited. I bought it because wheb I sat in it, it was a perfect fit and like this Plantronics 505 to me is a better fit and I'm happy with it. Best Buy just makes the buying experience so east, comfortable and I have been a customer since they opened their doors. Buy the best from Best Buy.
A:AnswerThe 505 doesn't have the announce feature. Currently just our Legend, Edge, and focus use that feature. For those headsets, it will announce the contact name in your contact list, but not the number.
A:AnswerHello- The Explorer 505 does not have a dedicated mute button; however, during a conversation, you can press and hold both the
volume up and volume down buttons until you hear “mute on” or “mute off.” While the microphone is muted, a reminder tone repeats
every 15 minutes. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerHi Kam. I assume you depressed the "call button" until the indicator light flashes blue and red and the devise you are pairing it (phone or laptop) is in a visible/discover mode. If those conditions are met you should see it appear as PLT_500. Select it and the code should not be required, but if it is asking for a code, it should be 0000. If it is connected (not paired) to two devices at that time it will be a challenge pairing it. So you will have to disconnect it from one or both. However based on what you said, it was not previously paired to another device so I do not think that is the problem. I hope that helps.
