Hello- The Explorer 505 does not have a dedicated mute button; however, during a conversation, you can press and hold both the volume up and volume down buttons until you hear “mute on” or “mute off.” While the microphone is muted, a reminder tone repeats every 15 minutes. Hope this helps.

To turn on "mute" while on a call, you have press the Volume (+) and (-) buttons at the same time and you will hear "Mute on" / "Mute off" Make sure you ONLY do this WHILE you are on an active call. If you do this while you are NOT on a call --- it will activate "language" settings and you will have to wait until you hear "Press any button for English / Press any button to confirm English" Hope this helps.
