The treadmill can work without iFit. There is a manual mode available. HOWEVER, stay away from this machine if you will not use iFit. It DOES NOT have programmed workouts in manual mode, the speakers don't work in manual mode, you barely get any features with the manual mode. The specs mention an Aux Port to use the speakers with your own devices, but my treadmill does not have it. According to Proform/iFit support, the new version of this treadmill no longer has that port. Last, you cannot use the speakers via Bluetooth. Short answer is, if you are not using iFit, you might as well find a used treadmill for half the price and more features than this. I wish I would have known that before wasting my money.

After some months of not using it, my wife plugged it back into the wall and went to turn it on. The computer screen flashed and never turned back on. I have tried all the reset options unplugging using a paper clip to hit the reset button, but nothing works, do not purchase this model or any model with I fit this machine cost it over $1000 with shipping and is worthless because of the computer

Please try again later.A NordicTrack treadmill without the $30 per month iFIT subscription says "Available only to Premium Members" in any of the programmed workouts, but you still have the manual mode with a flat oval display of a 1/4-mile track. You have no music, no sound, and no way to use the display or speakers for auxiliary inputs. But you still have easy control of -3 to +12 degree decline or incline and 1 to 12 mph speed. So, I put mine in front of my own TV and speakers and watch movies, football games, etc. while getting a great workout. This is a super smooth and quiet treadmill. No iFIT needed!

The screen is huge and useless without iFit. Would have cost $500+ to return it. The stupid big screen gets in the way of my watching the TV I had to buy/mount. Will never purchase from Nordic Track again as I don’t want the managed programs.
