Q: QuestionCan this be used as a renewal for an existing Quicken Premier subscription?

• A:Answer Yes... I refuse to pay full subscription price thru Quicken so I always wait until it goes on sale. I've been doing this for the past 2 years (including this year) and have had no problems. When you enter the new activation code it automatically adds the 365 days onto your existing subscription.

Q: QuestionMy current Quicken Premier does not expire until April 2020. If I purchase the 1-Year Subscription now, can I wait until April or May to activate it and thereby have a new expiration of April or May 2021??

• A:Answer While I am not 100% certain, I believe your assumption is correct. By making the purchase, I believe you are entitled to an additional 1 year subscription (i.e., the activation or key code is new). I've seen nothing to suggest or dictate when you have to use the code to activate the subscription. So holding onto that activation/key code should not be a problem. In my case, every year I purchased my new subscription when I see a good sale and usually several weeks ahead of when my old subscription is set to expire. And a few days before it was set to expire then I would add the new activation/key code. This may not provide the absolute certainty that you are looking for but I do believe the activation/key code will still be good when you want to use it in April or May 2021.

• A:Answer Yes. When you register, it will ask you if you want a 1 year subscription or a 2 year subscription. You can update to the lastest version during your subscription period and anytime an update is available. This is a new subscription method of usage. The old method of purchase software, then it's yours no longer exists. You may be limited as to what features (like bill-pay) are available once your subscription expires.

• A:Answer The Quicken Premier Box I purchased contained a physical disc. The activation card states that to use Quicken you must activate your subscription at quicken.com/activate with the one-time use activation code, CD installation is optional.

• A:Answer Yes. Intuit sold Quicken to another company, and they've gone to a subscription model, enforced by killing the ability to download patches or (importantly) bank data unless your subscription is current. There is no longer a "buy it once, use it until _you_ decide to upgrade" option for this product. Unfortunately Quicken is still sorta the gold standard in the class of personal finance software that keeps the data on your machine rather than in the cloud somewhere. Despite all its warts. Some of the others are starting to catch up, but Quicken monopolized the data download business by having their protocol become the default standard. There is a competing protocol, but it isn't yet available from all banks and at this time it too has a (much lower!) yearly subscription fee.

Q: QuestionI see that the Release Date of this software is 10/27/19 and I have been reading that the activation code on this product expires in 24 months, not from the date of purchase but from the date of release. Hasn't it expired already?

• A:Answer No. I just bought this item on 3/21/2023 to reactivate my Quicken-Premier software that expired on 4/3/2023. On 4/6/2023 I entered the new activation code that came with new product to extend my subscription until 4/6/2024. Worked just fine. No glitches.

• A:Answer When you purchase Quicken, you are purchasing a license for the time period specified on the box (usually 1 year). So, if you purchase a disc version, with a license code that is still active, it will automatically upgrade to the latest version after you install it. You will also get free upgrades to Quicken throughout your subscription period, Just a note of caution, purchasing the disc version from places like eBay, doesn't ensure you will get an active license code. Quicken's license codes expire, I think it is either 1.5 or 2 years after they are issued.

• A:Answer Quicken does try to keep a lower price only available to new users. There may or may not be ways to renew the subscription at that price, but if you buy a "new members only" box you really can't complain if it's good for new members only. Do you feel lucky?

• A:Answer Yeh, since it is a decimal based currency I see no reason for problems except possible tax issues that there should be a difference. This is my opinion only, I have used previous US based editions in Japanese yen.

• A:Answer They're only good for 12 months, not 24. They expire after one year from installing that subscription key. The software is still usable without a code, but loses its download capabilities.
