It works fine on an older 48" Vizio model. Probably the same age, if not a year or two older. If you have an hdmi (arc) or an hdmi (not arc) with optical port it should work. With the hdmi arc you don't need the optical cable. Coax cable will not work. The hdmi and optical cables are included in the package.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It should. I used a Sharp Aquos TV from 2012 myself and while I needed to use the extra cord for it to turn off the TV, it still worked fantastic. If you have an HDMI(Arc) port, you may be able to avoid using the second cord.
