The Ethernet connection on most devices will look like a input on a telephone. If you don't have wireless capabilities in your home, then you would want to connect your modem or router to the Roku using an Ethernet cable. I have included a couple cable options. I hope that helps!
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is the type of connection you establish with a physical wire that connects from your device to a router, switch, or node. If you have a desktop computer at home or work and there is a wire in the back connecting to "the internet", this is an Ethernet connection. The Roku will work faster and cleaner (better image quality) if you use the Ethernet option over the WiFi, since some Roku models can only connect to a WiFi if the access point is set to TKIP security. This slows down the connection very bad.

It's faster and arguably more reliable than Wi-Fi. So if you happen to have wired access to your router, then you would likely want to use ethernet rather than Wi-Fi. If not, then Wi-Fi is still quite good and what most people will use, I suspect.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. An ethernet connection is a wired connection between your device and your router. The Roku 2 has the capability of connecting to your router either wirelessly or using a network cable. The ethernet connection would provide the more reliable result, however it restricts the placement of the device. Wifi would enable you to position the Roku 2 anywhere in your house as long as it can receive a wifi signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. An Ethernet port looks like a telephone cord port. You may or may not have one on your TV. You only need to use Ethernet if you do not have Wi-Fi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ethernet is the term used for wired network connectivity. This allows you to connect the Roku to your home network with a network cable rather than wireless. Ethernet in general is more reliable and often faster depending on your home router.
