There is no Roku 2 stick only the box. There is a Roku 1 stick. It (Roku 1 stick) does have 2000+ channels but the Roku 2 has 2000+ as well and more options available overall. Here is a link with a comparison. https://www.roku.com/products/compare Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The main difference with the stick and the Roku 2 are the processor. The Roku 2 runs the hardware of the 2014 Roku 3 for faster performance and the Roku stick uses hardware from the 2014 Roku 2. The performance difference will be noticeable but not necessary. The other perk to the Roku 2 is the usb port for playing movies, music, etc from a external source.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In my opinion, the biggest difference is speed. Much faster processor on the box compared to the stick. There are other differences, but this was my biggest deciding factor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it is not necessary. Does not make such a huge difference. It is faster, but you really can' tell. The stick is more portable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Roku stick has a slower processor. Not frustratingly slow but noticeably. It also doesn't have a USB port or ethernet. If possible, it's always better to use hardwire using ethernet to ensure a better signal. The USB is convenient because you can plug a flash drive with video, pictures or music and play it directly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Differences from Roku.com are the Roku 2 has a "lightning fast processor" and Ethernet, USB & microSD card slot. The Stick has a "point anywhere remote"; i.e., you don't have to point the remote at the stick. Another consideration is if your HDMI port is on the back of your TV and, if it's wall mounted, may be room for an HDMI cable but not the Roku stick. If you have the room, go for the stick
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The ROKU box will hook up to your LAN while the stick is wireless only
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was told the sticks do not stream well and they have drag time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The main reason i opted for the Roku2 over the stick was I wanted to be able to plug in the USB media i have my movies and music stored on for playback. I have since discovered the Plex channel and stream it directly from my desktop. So unless you want the Ethernet jack, the stick should work just fine.
