It depends which type of smart phone you have . With my IPhone 8 , it is straightforward to connect to the internet via the smart tv. First, I use the remote control to select internet . If your phone is not connected automatically, click “Troubleshoot “ in your smart tv to set up hot spot connection. You need to make sure that you go to settings in your smart phone and choose Hot Spot. You need to click on the password for your hot spot. The tv will pick up on your smart phone hot spot. Then you should be connected to the internet via your hotspot .

Make sure you connect the phone and lightning cable plus HDMI cable when the tv is off . Then you select SOURCE on the remote control and choose HDMI 2. Next, you turn the tv on . You should see your iPhone or smart phone on tv monitor
