A:Answer Yes, this drive is the same size and has the same connector as the original spinning hard drive that the laptop came with. There are many screw to remove and even have to remove the keyboard to get the back of the case to come off. From there, sliding the old drive away from the concept, after removing the hold down screws, will release the drive. Disassembly is in the reverse. Look for videos on YouTube. Don’t let the screws and keyboard removal scare you. It’s very simple. There is one video when the person has a specialized addition hard drive case that slips in place of the original optical drive. This allows you to have a second drive and he reused his original drive in this case to have additional free hard drive space.
Older computers with a fresh install of Windows on a much faster Solid State Drive (SSD) instead of the much slower spinning hard drives, breaths new life into these laptops. Boot up time is so much faster and Windows is snappier when opening programs or switching between app. Highly recommend. Just make sure you research about loosing hidden Windows install partitions on your original drive and ways to clone drives if you need/want to keep this. I prefer loading windows of a thumb drive that has Windows installer on it but you may need to know your Windows key first. All this is on the net. Good luck.
