WiFi ready means that you have to buy an additional piece to receive the transmission. Usually a usb type device that looks like a thumb drive.

Wifi built in means you can connect your device to the internet without wires or cables. It will detect any wifi signal in the house and connect to it if you choose to connect to that in home wifi signal.
