I use this hardwire method instead of the unsecured cloud storage. Allows me to access info while not being internet connected.
Simply put: thumb drives and this adapter are my cloud for backups, copies of SD cards, etc. Necessary due to loss of all fon or tablet SD card files should these devices stop working. I recently lost all SD card data on a tablet after fixing problems with a factory OS reset. The data was saved on a thumb drive prior to the reset, then reloaded to the SD card. Quicker than cloud transfers and doesn't eat into my monthly fon data transfer allowance.
