The switch is seamless and most of your information on your old phone can be copied to your new one. Unlocked phones are the only way to go, if your are happy with your existing carrier, and don’t want to change your existing plan, which often leads to extending a contract. The down side is there are little or no bargains on the new unlocked phone.
