QuestionJust purchased this today. The remote will not adjust the volume. Why not?? Have to use the volume controls on the sound bar itself. Not very convenient having to get off the couch to adjust the volume!!!

- Answer The remote button for volume is a single button. Unlike most remotes where you hit left to lower and the right to raise the volume. The button acts more like a toggle switch. Toggle up for volume up and toggle down for volume down. If you press it, it acts as another mute button. It took some getting used to for me as well.

- Answer Hi Erin, The HW-B550 Soundbar is only compatible with the SWA-9100S and SWA-9200S Wireless Rear Speaker Kits. It is not compatible with the SWA-8500S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit. ~Samsung Solutions

- Answer Hi there, We recommend using HDMI as this will offer the best audio and user experience available. First, connect a HDMI cable from the Soundbar to a TV's ARC HDMI input. Then you will select HDMI as the source using the Soundbar remote using the Source button (which is the upper most right button). From here you will be all set. And can now use the TV remote to control the overall volume of your Soundbar. ~Samsung Solutions

QuestionWill this work if no internet? Want to add it for a senior citizen with hearing loss but they are technology challenged. (Not nice, I know, but it's the truth and they've managed to do things to their phones, etc & don't need that with their tv.)

QuestionSsmsung B550 w/wireless subwoofer connected HDMI ARC on a Samsung 55" TV. Frequent sound drops evrn after adjusted settings. Quite annoying. Store advice doesnt help. Old Vizio bar and wired Yamaha SW worked fine. Ideas? (Its not BT or wifi conflicts).

- Answer Hello Grillman821. Updating the firmware on your HW-B650 Soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When an update is available, you can update the Soundbar by connecting the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar. 1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper right corner. 2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model 2. Download the firmware file (USB type). 3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name. 4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar. 5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes. - During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB. - If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it. - When the latest Version is installed, no update is performed. - Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported. 6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off If your soundbar fails to update or is experiencing problems, please contact Samsung Customer Support. - Answer Using an eARC HDMI cable fixed this for me. It will automatically turn on and off when the tv is powered on/off

- Answer Hi JesstySauceIf! If your soundbar and Samsung TV are connected by an optical cable, Auto Power Link will turn your soundbar on automatically when you turn on the TV. If you have the soundbar connected with an HDMI cable to the Samsung TV, Anynet+ will turn the soundbar on automatically. No need to reach for the soundbar remote every time you want to watch TV! To use Auto Power Link, follow the steps below: 1) Connect your soundbar to your TV with an optical cable. 2) Set the soundbar to D.IN mode by pressing Source on the remote or soundbar. 3) Press and hold the left direction on the direction pad on the remote for more than 5 seconds or until Auto Power Link appears on the soundbar display to activate or deactivate Auto Power Link. ~ Samsung Solutions

- Answer Hi! The HW-B550 features three ways to connect to an external device: HDMI (ARC), digital optical audio, and Bluetooth wireless audio technology.
