- Answer Honestly, I don't think it's lossless when connected wirelessly. I connected it using HDMI Arc, and it's fantastic.

QuestionDoes the soundbar need to be connected by wire to the TV? And does the soundbar need to plug into an electrical outlet? Thank you.

- Answer Yes you need an HDMI 4K cable to get the best output from TV. You also need a power outlet for the power cord. The back speakers and subwoofer connect via Bluetooth to the sound bar, but all three need power outlets to function.

QuestionHow is this different then the Samsung Q950A? What benefits does this have that the 950A doesn't? Thanks!

- Answer It has a higher power woffer. The main bar has a metal screen as opposed to fabric, nice upgrade to better handle pet hair and dust. The display for the bar was moved from the top of the unit to the front of the unit so you can read what input its on without needing to see the top of the bar. This model also supports a wireless connection to your Samsung TV so you don't need to directly connect it to your TV. If you want full ATMOS over wireless I think you need the latest model year of Samsung tv, but it connected to my last years model just fine. The rear speakers may be a little higher power too but I would suggest you google the specs to confirm that.

- Answer Hi SoundBox, The rear speakers included with the HW-Q990B Soundbar are newly designed in 2022 so they will have an improved aesthetic look. Internally the rears feature front-firing, side-firing, and top-firing speakers. The SWA-9500S Wireless Rear Speakers feature front-firing and top-firing speakers. ~Samsung Solutions

- Answer The rear speakers can be wall mounted. Atmos performance will depend on a number of things including room size, height to the ceiling, type of ceiling and so on. As the system uses top-mounted drivers on the soundbar and the rear speakers for Atmos keeping everything relatively in-line helps the overall sound output.

- Answer Hello there, The HW-Q990B Soundbar cannot have additional rear speakers added on. You can take the rear speakers and enable them to be used as FRONT LEFT or RIGHT speakers. Within the full manual you will be able to see how this is accomplished. ~Samsung Solutions

- Answer I don't see why it wouldn't work. If you have an eARC HDMI port then that would be the best port to plug into. If not, then a regular HDMI port should work. My 990b is plugged into my HDMI 3 port which is an eARC port.

QuestionWe have a older Samsung Curve UN65JU7500F. This is sitting in a large room with vaulted ceilings. We were trying to find a sound bar that would work in this space. Will this sound bar work with this TV and will the top speakers also fire sound?

- Answer Hello docholiday1991, The HW-Q990B Soundbar has the ability to connect using Digital Optical, HDMI or Bluetooth. If you are wanting to use the top-firing speakers, these are Dolby Atmos content. Depending on the height of your ceilings, Dolby recommends for an optimal audio experience the ceilings are no taller than 12 to 14 feet. You will have to use an HDMI cable to access Dolby Atmos content, within the sound settings of your TV you will need to change your audio output to Dolby Digital+ as well. If your TV does not have this setting then it may not be able to produce Dolby Atmos content through the TV. Please refer to the full manual on your TV. ~Samsung Solutions

- Answer Hello Dancingbear4, The HW-Q990B Soundbar has the ability to connect using eARC, and this will be the best way to connect your Soundbar to the TV. Using HDMI port 3 (eARC) for your soundbar, and then connecting your video game console to port 4 (HDMI 2.1) will allow you to have all of the features of both your console and soundbar. ~Samsung Solutions
