  • QuestionIs this Samsung T3 SSD's cable compatible with a USB 2.0 connection?

    Asked by John.

    • Answer Yes. Your transfer speed will be topped out at Usb 2.0 speeds versus 3.0. If you plan to upgrade to 3.0 in the future then this a great investment. If not I would recommend getting a less expensive flash/hard drive.

  • QuestionWill this work on a 2009 mac book pro or is my hardware to slow ?

    Asked by Ramses.

    • Answer I use it on my 2014 Mac Book Pro but not sure if 2009 version will work well. I suppose if you have a hard disk drive on your 2009 and then use the Samsung solid state drive that it would probably slow things down. But I'm not sure.

  • QuestionWhat cable does it come with ??

    Asked by Mike.

    • Answer It comes with a USB 3.1 cable that connects from a small Type-C port on the SSD to a standard size USB port on your computer. The only downside is that it's kind of short. But besides that, as long as you have a 3.0 USB port, you'll get nice speeds from this SSD. Hope this helps. :)

  • QuestionI have a Galaxy 5. my photos are maxed out. also a surface with windows 10

    Asked by Audrey.

    • Answer You haven't stated if you have a regular sized USB port on the Galaxy or on the Surface. I would assume that you have a micro USB port on the Galaxy, and might have a regular sized USB port on the Surface. You can purchase a conversion adapter to plug into a micro or mini USB port (on your Galaxy or Surface) that allows you to plug in the Samsung SSD regular sized USB cable into it. Your speed would only be limited by the speed rating of your ports on the Galaxy and Surface (ie. USB1.0, 2.0, 3.0 etc.), but would allow you to download your photos/videos to the Samsung SSD. I have purchased these adapters from Best Buy in the past ( Dynex Mini HDMItoMicro HDMI Adapter Black, Model: DX-HZ317, SKU: 8440037, $7.99 each), and have used them on my Android tablets (Samsung, RCA, BB with Win 10) and phones to download photos and videos to this SSD. You have to order the adapter from the Best Buy website as they do not stock this item in the retail stores. The speed of transferring the files would depend on the "weakest link in the chain" which would probably be the speed of your USB port on your Galaxy and Surface. The Samsung SSD has the speed of a 3.1 USB (simply described to a non-IT individual), but will operate at the slower USB 2.0 speed if that is what you have on your Galaxy and Surface.
