• Yes! I use it with an older Mac book pro without problems . On a newer Mac you will have USB C and be able to enjoy maximum performance for the drive.

• Yes. Samsung SSD T3 works with my MacBook Pro (15") 2017 (has TouchBar). If you don't plan encrypting contents of your external drive you even don't have to install drivers that come with it. I just bought separately USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable. Shortest they had in store was Belkin 1.5'. Speed of this drive is amazing!
