• Yes. Format the drive from Disk Utility and accept the defaults. It will show up as a separate drive in Finder. Remember to eject the drive in Finder before unplugging it.

• Yes! I use it with a MacBook Pro 2016 and my Mac Studio 2022. It works so smoothly that you forget you are working with external storage. I would not buy any other external memory.
