QuestionThe specs on this device states that it uses 128-bit encryption algorithm but I've seen other info which says it should have 256-bit encryption algorithm. Is this a typo ? If not, which version of this 2TB SSD Portable uses 256 ?

- Answer This model [ Model:SDSSDE61-2T00-G25 / SKU:6427551 ] your question posted to is 256-bit. Another model with the same 2TB storage size is 128-bit [ Model:SDSSDE81-2T00-G25 / SKU:6427554 ]. The differences between the two models are the read/write specs and the price. The 256-bit models has a lower read/write speed, and the price is lower. The 128-bit has 2x the read/write speed and the price.

- Answer It works fine on my MacBook Pro with a USB - C to USB - A adapter. I use it for Time Machine backups but haven't clocked the speed.

- Answer It comes with Sandisk's drive protection preinstalled. You just set a password and youre good to go. Keep in mind that there is no way for Sandisk to retrieve your pw if you forget it. Youll have to format the drive and lose whatevers on it

QuestionBought in December and formatted exfat and loaded a lot of files but now when U try to open its keeps saying there’s errors and to repair. Did that but every time I try to open it keeps saying there’s errirs to repair. What’s going on is it bad?

This issue may be related to file system corruption, possibly caused by unsafe ejection, power interruption or formatting issue. We recommend formatting the drive after backing up your existing data using another device as formatting storage is a data destruction process. - Answer Hi, please note that the SanDisk Extreme Portable USB-C NVMe SSD can hold backups and other data but we haven't tested the drive working directly with applications. However, it does offer fast read/write speeds, making it great for storing and editing large Photoshop files. It works with Windows and macOS.
