• I would suggest spending more time Riding and or folding and unfolding your Segway nine bot in order to wear-in the locking mechanism “ for lack of better words“

• So the process is to slide the orange colored retainer out of the way. Then press down on the release handle. The reason this is tight is so the mechanism does not release during riding. Using a pair of leather work gloves can assist you in getting more pressure on the handle without hurting your hand.
