QuestionI bought the shark lift away and when I use it on hard floor the brushes don’t move but they do when on carpet control. Are they not supposed to move on hard floor option?

- Answer They are not supposed to move when they are on a hard surface. The roller motion is only for carpet.

QuestionI am confused about the three settings on this vacuum. I plan on using it on a 2" shag area rug. Can I use it in hardwood mode and still have enough suction to properly clean the carpet. I do not want that beater brush to damage my carpet.

- Answer I would use the 3rd setting. It will do the same as 2 but a little less suction so it won't pull up the carpet. Hardwood mode won't work. You risk damaging your rug and/or vacuum.

- Answer I have a Shark lift away that after 12 yrs finally died. It would go for five minutes then quit. It quit sucking just spit the dirt back out. Was a great little sucker for a long long time.

QuestionHow many belts does it have and how long do they last. I have a belt less Hoover now. Best vacuum ever. Even survived a house fire! But, it does not work well on tiles or hardwood.

QuestionI love the vacuum, how do I shut off the brushes from spinning to use on the hardwood floor? I switched from hardwood when the brushes weren’t spinning, to carpet pushing the appropriate spot, now I want to switch back onto hardwood and shut them off.

- Answer It is a horrible design choice to not have an OFF setting for the rolling brushes. A roller that can not be turned off will damage a handmade carpet.
