• You do not need a smart phone for the Shark ION 720 model. It comes with a remote control and does not have smartphone app integration. You can also start the cleaning cycle by manually pressing a button on the top of the vacuum.

• Use the REMOTE (if your model included one) to program the date, time, and cleaning schedule, which was super easy and took about 3-5 minutes.

• No. The 720 is controlled either by the buttons on the top of robot or by the remote that comes with it. The remote works by either pushing the buttons or can program a schedule on the remote and it will start the robot automatically. The robot does not connect to phone or your WiFi

• No you do not need a smart phone for this vacuum. It actually comes with a remote so you can program a schedule for your vacuum.
