These take a standard CR2032 or Duracell DL2032 Battery. Batteries in sensors are expected to last approximately 5 years.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My previous 2nd gen version was up for over 2 year and I feel that it would continue for quite some time. The only caveat is that I go in and out mostly through the garage, so the doors remain shut for most of the time, requiring signal transmission to the base very rarely. This new version (3rd gen) came with a Duracell DL2032 (coin size), a much smaller battery comparing to the previous version. Let's see how long it lasts as I just installed my new system a week ago.
