Yes you can use a regular vent hose instead of this one. I did. I purchased one from Home Depot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I also replaced an existing dryer. I reused the existing vent. The pipe connection from my Maytag is a little shorter than the LG's so I had to buy a short externsion pipe and trim to fit. Very easy job with a tin snips. You might not have this issue with yours.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Seems like I bought this kit in order to qualify for free installation of my appliance by Best Buy's delivery personnel. I know what you mean about the kit causing the dryer to sit further from the wall. If you can find one that works with less wasted space, I'd say, "use it!" The only cautionary note I'd add is to make sure the outlet hose connecting your dryer to the vent is not unduly constricted, or squashed in order to save the space. The vent kit we're discussing is semi-rigid and kinks easily if you try to push the dryer closer to the wall. A more flexible hose might let you get your dryer closer to the wall but be squeezed out of shape in the process, restricting the airflow from the dryer exhaust. That is undesirable and coud damage the machine or at least impede its proper function.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can use it. I did same thing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use your old one. This one is sturdy and it won't kink. If you are short on space keep your old one.
