I think it depends on how you want to put them, maybe if the room is small you could put one on top of another

I don't know what that means, but I would recommend a bare minimum of 5 ft in width for the washer/dryer wall and 6 ft in depth with a door opening of 30 inches or more depending on whether you're willing to remove the door to make room to move the machines in/out if needed. To install in a closet, with machines becoming larger, I would recommend an interior depth of 42 inches with the door closed, and a width of 60 or more inches between the open doors. Maybe you mean stacked. Someone else will have to help you with that, but offhand I would say allow at least 6 extra inches at the sides, so that for a 27 inch wide set, allow 39 inches in width. For a 33 inch depth, allow at least 6 inches at the rear and 3 or 4 inches behind the door. The installation instructions should tell you exactly what you need.
