“What does the "Features Specified for HDMI 2.1: eARC" mean if this doesn't have HDMI 2.1? (specs on Sony.com). The X900h model has the same spec, as well as 4k120/VRR compatibility in a future firmware update. Will this model support those things as well?”

Hi James, thank you for inquiring about the XBR49X950H. There is much confusion about the HDMI versions and concerns about compatibility. For this reason, we do not promote the HDMI versions incorporated on many of our products. Instead, we advertise the features of a product that are associated with a particular HDMI version. For X950H, the TV will support up to 18 Gbps transfer rates to support 4K HDR and Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC). For expanded support for HDMI 2.1 features, like VRR, ALLM and 4K120, please check out the X900H.
