A:AnswerYes, the ATSC 3.0 tuner is indeed worth mentioning in any new television in 2020 where it is available. Not all TVs in 2020 are shipping with ATSC 3.0, but Sony reports this one is. In the 2020 lineup, it appears LG and Samsung are only offering this new tuner technology in their higher end models. So this mid-range model by Sony is unique in that respect.
ATSC 3.0 is also referred to as the next generation broadcast standard that was approved by the FCC. Unlike ATSC 1.0 (which became the television broadcast standard in 2009) (HDTV), this next generation tuner technology will enable the television to display 4k broadcasts (via over the air/broadcast television) as broadcasters adopt the new standard. The roll out will be slow, but (prior to COVID-19), it was announced that some stations (in the top 40 identified US markets) stated that they will begin broadcasting this new standard by the end of 2020. Please keep in mind, ATSC 3.0 is a voluntary, which means not all broadcasters may participate in the future. But given the level of reported interest, it appears many broadcasters will eventually adopt the standard. Televisions without the new ATSC 3.0 tuner will not be able to receive new 4K broadcasts (as they become available). So any current television (without this new tuner) will only be able to receive any future 4K broadcast signals with an external tuner. And most likely, that would only apply to newer TV sets.
You can read more about this next generation broadcast standard (aka ATSC 3.0) in a number of articles published online. I am a cord cutter and broadcast enthusiast so this new tuner technology is important to me. I hope this feedback helps others in some way.
A:AnswerShort answer is "Yes, but"
Long answer is that the screen is capable of 120 FPS at 4K resolution, but the firmware won't support it until later in the year (presumably when the PS5 is released). Not that you'll miss the framerate until then, unless you're planning to also hook up a rather powerful PC and use it as a monitor in the meantime.
A:AnswerDepth is 13 3/8", and width is 41.5". It is possible to buy aftermarket pedestal stands for $30-40 if these won't work for you - I use some on another TV, and they attach in the same way a bracket for wall mounting would.
A:AnswerHi David,
Thank you so much for your inquiry. These will be supported on HDMI Input 3 and 4. We have already released an update that adds support for eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) and for the 4K 120Hz signal format to allow for PlayStation5 compatibility. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) will be added via a future firmware update. I hope this helps!

A:AnswerI have my 55" X900H connected to a Vizio 5.1 soundbar system via ARC HDMI and the TV does pass on Dolby Atmos signal to the soundbar. Signal sources used are Netflix, VUDU, as well as a Sony UHD disc player.
A:AnswerI have received word that the release date for this model is June 5, 2020. I am surprised that Best Buy does not put this information on the webpage-it would be very helpful!
A:AnswerHi Bing, the latest version of the TV was released last 07-21-2020. Make sure to turn on the automatic update on the TV to receive the latest version once a new update is released. You may also find this link helpful:

A:AnswerHi AHMED, thanks for your interest in the XBR55X900H TV. Unfortunately, the TV is not supplied with an HDMI cable. It is recommended to use a Premium High Speed HDMI cable for optimum performance. You can check your nearest authorized dealer for purchasing an HDMI cable. Please be advised the support for 4K120 will be available via future software update. ~Ralph
A:AnswerHi Dave,
There is much confusion about the HDMI versions and concerns about compatibility. For this reason, we do not promote the HDMI versions incorporated on many of our products. Instead, we advertise the features of a product that are associated with a particular HDMI version.
HDMI 3 and 4 of the X900H TV supports 4K120 and eARC (via software update). There are also plans to have more HDMI 2.1 standard features (VRR and ALLM) for this model (via a software update).
Regards,
-Ralph

A:AnswerHi there,
Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the XBR55X900H TV doesn't have sound-positioning tweeters. The TV comes with two X-Balanced speakers (Down Firing) which are designed to complement the sound quality and slimness of the TV.
The two sound positioning tweeters at the back of the TV that enable sound to follow the action, for a truly immersive experience (Sony's Acoustic Multi-Audio) are available on X900H 65" class and larger.
Regards,
-Ralph
A:AnswerIf you are planning to place a soundbar within the open space under the screen and between the legs, it is approximately 2-3/4" High by 41" Wide. If you place it in front of the TV, the soundbar can be up to 3-3/8" High. It will cover part of the bezel, but not block the screen.
