Q: QuestionPlease! What is the difference between the NPFV70 and NPFV70A model battery and can they both be used with the Sony - Prosumer HDR-CX900 HD Flash Memory Camcorder (model # HDRCX900/B)???

• A:Answer Hi BatteryWho, Both of these batteries can be used and are compatible with HDR-CX900. They only differ on the manufacturing date, NPFV70 was manufactured in 2010 while the NPFV70A was in 2015. Regards, Jen

Q: QuestionBattery differences?I have a HDR-CX190 which came with a Sony NP-FV30. I want to buy another battery but don't know the difference between the Sony NP-FV30 and the NP-FV50, 70, 100, etc?

Q: QuestionBattery letter differences - infoLITHIUm v,h,pWhat is the actual difference in the battery pack designated "V", "H" or "P"? My camcorder (Sony HDR-CX330) takes a "V" whereas my Wife's camcorder Sony DCR-HC21) needs a "P". What makes them different and are the batteries interchangeable?

Q: QuestionCan I use a NP-FV50 battery on a DCR-HC37E HandycamI have both a DCR-HC37E Handycam and a HDR-CX130E Camcorder. One uses H type battery and the other uses a V type battery. Could I use the V type battery on the DCR-HC37E? Also could one charger charge both types of battery? Thanks

Q: QuestionSony DCR-SX30E compatiblity with NP-FV batteriesThe original battery for DCR-SX30E Handycam is NP-FH30, with 7.2V and 500mAh. I saw many different original and replacement batteries with voltage different form 7.2V. Is it possible (and appropriate) to use batteries with 6.8 or 7.4V? Are NP-FVxx bateries (NP-FV50, NP-FV70 and NP-FV100) compatible with this Handycam, or only NP-FHxx batteries (NP-FH30, 50, 70 and 100)?

Q: QuestionHow long to charge the new NP- FV 30 battery for the very first time?Hi, I just bought a new Sony HDR-CX220 camcorder and charging the new battery for the very first time. The battery pack is infoLithium NP-FV30 How long should I charge the new battery for? Should new batteries be charged fully 8-12 hrs for the first time? Also, I'm using the camera's USB cable to charge via a wall USB charger similar to those used for charging iPads. Will that work to charge the Sony battery too? Thanks!

• A:Answer The battery included on Sony camcorders has a factory charge, initial charging is not necessary. Charging time using your computer connected with the built-in USB cable would be 150 minutes.

• A:Answer The Sony HDR-CX190 Camcorder is compatible with both the Sony NP-FV70 and NP-FV30 battery packs. NP-FV70 provides longer recording and playback time. While NP-FV30 provides 95 minutes of HD recording and 105 minutes of SD recording time, NP-FV70 provides 375 minutes of HD recording and 415 minutes of SD recording time. Playback time available with NP-FV30 is: 135 minutes for HD and 145 minutes for SD and with NP-FV70 is: 525 minutes for HD and 565 minutes for SD. You can however opt for the Sony NP-FV100 battery pack which is also compatible and provides playing time of: 1045 minutes for HD and 1120 minutes for SD and recording time of 745 minutes for HD and 830 minutes for SD.

• A:Answer Yes the V series Battery is a replacement for the H series battery and has a 15% longer life than what is reported for its H series Equivalent in the users manual. recording time is determined by the conditions and resolution when filming. for example The NP-FH70 with continuous recording tile has an average of 140 minutes on HD and 170 minutes on SD Typical recording time ( with starts stops zooming) - 70 minutes with continuous recording and 80 minutes SD
