Does the ps5 it self have to be turned on to play this ? null

It has to be on OR in rest mode and the portal will wake it up from rest mode.

Sony said turning on this (the PlayStation portal) will automatically turn on your PS5. So you can boot it up anywhere with WiFi.

It can be Standby Mode, not necessarily on.

Yes. Portal would simply display what is being run on your console. You will be able to remotely power on your PS5 from your Portal.

Yes it needs to be in rest mode, then from there you can wake it up and play on the portal from anywhere theres a solid wifi connection. Meaning you can be a thousand miles away.
