• Hey Sam, The RGB Illumination is powered through USB connection. Because the Xbox Controller only uses a 3.5mm connection, there is no way the controller can provide enough power for the RGB lighting.

• Unfortunately it doesn't light up when plugged into an Xbox controller. It only lights up when it's plugged into a USB port.

• I know it doesn't light up when plugged into my PS4 controller, it only lights up when plugged directly to the console. The colors change on their own until you go to their website I believe and you can set a particular color or color pattern.

• Maybe this might help or not. I don't own the arctis 5, but I do own the siberia v2 frost edition which does light up when I plug it into my ps4 through the USB. Maybe it will do the same with an xbox as well.
