TCL does not claim that they have a 120 HZ refresh rate screen. What TCL says is that the video is processed at 120-240HZ, so the video you see on the 60HZ TCL in most cases will look just as sharp and clean, as if it were a 120/240HZ screen. TCL is not alone in this less than sincere description of their refresh rates, and didnt invent the advertising of "effective refresh rates", and Samsung, LG, and Sony have been making the same claims for more than a decade. I personally do not like this kind of advertising, but as with any product purchase, a little research can go a long way. It is true that TCL's video processing does indeed enhance the appearance. However, a movie filmed at 24 fps, will only look as good as any movie filmed at 24 fps, refresh rates cant change that. If you spend crazy money purchasing a TV with an "actual" 240HZ refresh rate, know that you're not getting anything more than 24fps from your movie, it's simply showing the same frame 10 times before it moves to the next frame.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it's 60. However search on youtube, there are a number of videos showing that 60 verse 120 doesn't matter anymore. Most TVs that operate at 120 really only operate at 60 when they are tested by tools that measure the frame rate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.120 is not necessarily better than 60. Read up online about it, lots of info out there. Each has its merits so based on how you use the tv one might fit you better, i game and stream hockey and tv, and have had both, and 60 for the most part usually looks better to me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Whoever tells you 60hz is better then 120hz is an idiot. TCL tvs are notorious for having a fake refresh rate. All of there tvs are 60hz. Even the ones that advertise at 120hz. TCL tvs are not capable of a 120hz refresh rate. The picture is clear but if you advertise 120hz and its not even capable of those specs then its false and is misleading customers. Pay a little more and get a good tv brand. I bought a tcl tv and after setting it up and going through the menus it was not what was advertised and not what i paid for. I would definitely NOT recommend this tv brand. TCL is NOT upfront of transparent with thier specs.
