According to an online review by Digital Trends, "Unfortunately, the M-Series falls short of being a gamer’s best friend. While it offers auto low-latency mode (ALLM) which helps greatly with input lag, it doesn’t support any flavor of variable refresh rate (VRR) technology, which is becoming increasingly desirable for both console and PC gamers alike. Moreover, it’s not yet clear how gamers will be able to take advantage of the M-Series’ 120Hz capabilities — the TV has four HDMI 2.1 ports, but these only support 4K @ 60Hz. With that limitation, only gaming apps that can be added to the TV via the Fire TV app store will be able to avail themselves of the TV’s 120Hz panel."
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This TV *cannot* do 120fps with Xbox Series X or PS5. Although this set DOES have HDMI 2.1, and yes HDMI 2.1 can support 120hz (aka 120fps), isn't supported on ALL sets that have 2.1 because there is no standard requiring it. It's ridiculous really, and is only going to get worse. Now coming up there is HDMI 2.1a that will be out soon and technically all ports moving forward will be called that and they don't have to support 120hz either because there are no requirements set for the HDMI standards. It's a mess and TV manufacturers aren't clear enough about what their sets can and cannot do. It's a huge pet peeve of mine on the HDMI standard because it's so ridiculous. One day this has just got to change, but sadly, that day is not today. Just to add that although the HDMI ports wont support 120hz, this TV set will support it if the game is downloaded from amazon directly to the tv via it's app. The game would have to support 120fps, of course. But the rule of thumb with this set is if it's plugged in via HDMI, it's 60hz.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well if the port can only do 4K at 60 Hz, that means it is not HDMI 2.1 as HDMI 2.1 can do 4K at 120 Hz.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Why does it say that it has 4 2.2 HDCP ports in the specs then?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not a gamer, but I would just like to point out that the specs quote "2.2" HDMI, not 2.1, so that might have been upgraded at some point, and people are commenting on old specs rather than the current one, so that should be considered in any debate on this issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.TV does have HDMI 2.1, as per HDMI 2.1 Specs it should support 120hz. On checking the videos posted I do see they have labeled them as HDMI 2.1@60hz so I am not sure why it is printed like this. Need to test then only it be confirmed if Latest consoles will be able to deliver 120hz
