- Answer Any router could have issues with lathe and plaster walls, this router can do the square footage, but you’ll just have to try it. The thicker the lathe and plaster, the more difficult and location will also play a role.

Reducing obstructions and placing the router in a central location will help ensure your signal reaches the areas you need. - Answer Yes, our AC4000 WiFi router can be used with any Internet service by connecting to the modem via Ethernet. Your ping will vary depending on numerous factors including, but not limited to: which medium you are connecting to the router with (i.e. Ethernet or WiFi), your Internet provider's speed and latency, and if connecting via WiFi, which band, how far from the router you are, and the WiFi capabilities of your gaming device. QuestionI have almost 20 devices one that draws a ton which is my wife's work computer then have cell phones xboxs TV's PlayStations wiis computers you name it can this device support all that

QuestionDoes this come with a preset password? I don’t have a computer to set it up with, only iPads.

- Answer I set the router up using the TP-Link Tether app on my smartphone. The app detects the router, then asks you what you want the SSID and password to be for each of the 3 wireless networks. I had it setup in less than a minute.

QuestionHi - I am a little confused on why this router say "none" next to firewall? Isn't a home router the first literal defense against malicious attack? I thought all routers came with firewalls embedded in the device? thank you for your help

- Answer No, the router cannot receive a direct fiber optic connection. If your ISP provides fiber connectivity, please verify whether they can provide fiber-to-Ethernet, so you can connect the source to the router's Internet port using an Ethernet cable. Regards, TP-Link Support

- Answer A Gateway is a Router and a Modem in 1 Box. This Router is just a router. You would need a separate DSL Modem to start with. But I can almost guarantee that this router is far superior to one supplied by them, although I have never seen or used one from them. If it's like the BGW210-700 listed on Amazon they run about $60 to $75 and the reviews are not that great. Anyway, I hope this helps.

- Answer Hello, The Archer C4000 has VPN server feature using OpenVPN or PPTP. It can also passthrough VPN traffic that uses PPTP, L2TP, or IPSec.
