• Locked means if it is a Tracfone phone you can only purchase Tracfone prepaid cards, it will not use ATT , Verizon plans, etc. Unlocked means you can use any phone plan you like. So an ATT locked phone cannot use Tracfone prepaid plans, but an unlocked one will.
